Wayne Rooney has expressed deep concern for his former club, Manchester United, stating that it feels “broken” and lacking soul. On the latest episode of The Wayne Rooney Show, he voiced his lack of confidence in manager Ruben Amorim, particularly after the team’s 3-1 loss at Brentford, which left them 14th in the Premier League.
Rooney noted that United has earned only 34 points under Amorim in 33 league matches, struggling to achieve back-to-back wins. He criticized certain players for not deserving to wear the club’s shirt and called for significant changes, including in management.
He highlighted the current atmosphere, saying fans are waiting for the club to “crumble.” Rooney remarked that the culture at United has deteriorated, with staff cuts affecting long-term employees, including those in the academy where his children train.
Despite Amorim’s insistence that he is not worried about his job, Rooney believes the club’s situation is dire. He criticized the manager’s tactical approach and expressed hope for improvement but lacks faith that it will happen soon. Rooney concluded that Manchester United needs a “new engine” to restore its former glory as the club faces significant challenges ahead.
