Ghana’s presidential aircraft has returned to Accra after an eight-month stay in France for extensive maintenance and repairs, as revealed by Bright Simons, Vice-President of IMANI Africa.
In a social media post, Simons confirmed that the aircraft was officially handed over to the Ghana Air Force on November 10 following a required 24-month and 1600-hour technical inspection at Dassault Falcon Service Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul facility in Paris.
The inspection identified significant technical issues, including defects in the fuel tanks and one of the turbofan engines. Simons also noted delays caused by challenges in obtaining OEM-certified spare parts.
Prior to its release, the aircraft underwent final tests, including leak assessments and engine ground runs. A positioning flight from Marseille was conducted as part of the logistics for its return to Ghana.
With the aircraft back, the country is set to restore and enhance its presidential air transport capabilities after eight months of absence.
